Attention Food Manufacturers; New FDA Food Regulations Will Affect You

New FDA regulations will impact the way all US food processors will maintain recordkeeping. The Bioterrorism Act 0f 2002 establishes requirements regarding the establishment and maintenance of records by persons who manufacture, process, pack, transport, distribute, receive, hold, or import food. The records that must be kept for potential inspection for two years to allow the FDA to identify sources and recipients of food in order to address credible threats of serious adverse health consequences or death to humans or animals.

Spring 2006 FastTrac session

ITAC's Spring 2006 FastTrac session started February 22, 2006.  Participants learn how to develop or improve their business model, develop strategic partners, and position their company to attract capital.

All persons that manufacture, process, pack, transport, distribute, receive, hold or import food; foreign persons that transport food in the U.S.; and persons who place food directly in contact with its finished container are covered under these regulations. Firms must comply on the following dates: December 9, 2005--500+ employees, June 9, 2006 -- 10-499 employees, and December 11, 2006 -- fewer than 10 employees.
