Congratulations To Four NYC Food Manufacturers For Winning The NYCEDC Fancy Food Competition

On June 7, 2012 the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) announced the winners of its NASFT Summer Fancy Food Show Competition: Taste of Ethiopia, Morris Kitchen, Chulita's Famous, and Davidovich Bakery each won a booth at the National Association of Specialty NASFTFood Trade (NASFT) Summer Fancy Food Show, sponsored by NYCEDC, held in Washington, D.C., June 17 to June 19, 2012. For each winner, NYCEDC funded and coordinated the design, marketing, and promotion of the booth, as well as covered the travel costs to Washington and NASFT 2012 member dues. Each year the Fancy Food Show attracts more than 17,000 buyers from around the world to source products for their stores and restaurants for the coming year. In addition to the winners, three runners up received a one-year membership to NASFT, sponsored by NYCEDC: Bocce's Bakery, Mama Oh's Premium Kimchi, and We Rub You Korean BBQ. Each business was evaluated on its growth potential, ability to expand its market, and suitability for the Show.

As they prepared to head to the Fancy Food Show, Gloribell Taveras, President, Chulita's Famous, said, "We are ecstatic to be heading to the Fancy Food Show this year in Washington, D.C. Susana [Chulita's Vice President] and I can't believe that last year we went as visitors, and this year we are going as presenters."
