Business Services Manager NYC Manufacturing Sector Center Are you experienced in building relationships with business owners? Are you knowledgeable about manufacturing? We are currently seeking a Business Services Manager to coordinate business services at the new NYC Manufacturing Sector Center, an innovative program that will meet the skill needs of local manufacturers and job-seekers. This is a unique program which will integrate Business Development & Workforce Development. He/she will work to develop relationships with NYC manufacturers so the center can effectively serve all their workforce needs.
In addition to exceptional people skills and dedication to the mission, it is expected that the incumbent will well-organized, self-confident and highly self-motivated. He/she will supervise the center’s account executive, and work closely with strategic partners and other stakeholders.
There will always be multiple priorities to meet. Some of the major duties/responsibilities include:
- Cultivate and maintain strong, ongoing relationships with NYC manufacturers (extensive travel within the 5 boroughs will be necessary)
- Develop strategies to best train and develop client company employees
- Conduct workforce assessments to determine needs of client companies
- Work with various partners/stakeholders to ensure a steady flow of new company referrals
- Attend events to help publicize center services
Our ideal candidate will have a BA/BS Degree in allied or similar field of study; minimum 3-5 years progressively responsible experience in workforce development, HR and/or business services. Experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred. Bi-lingual (Spanish or other) capability desirable. Proficient in current MS Office Suite applications.
